YOU have the power to make a difference! Join our “Raise What You Can” Pledge Program! Register Now! Remember, you are not raising money for yourself. You are raising money to help end breast cancer. Every pledge you collect makes a difference. Be creative and have fun!
Fund raising Incentives
Participants who raise $250, $500, $750, $1,000 and more will have their choice of
name brand merchandise as our thank you for collecting pledges. Certificates will be emailed automatically within one month of the Race. Certificates will include codes specific to how much money you raised. Certificate levels are based on the online fund raising or the offline (check) donations received with a properly filled pledge sheet. Due to the high volume of donations received, Marathon for the Cure is not responsible for the proper designation of offline donations that were turned in without the completed pledge sheet.
Fund raising Tips
The Power of Ten: $10 from 10 friends to help find the cure for breast cancer. Can you raise $100? If every estimated Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half participant raised just $100, more than $1,500,000 would go to the fight to end the disease forever!
Your participation in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon and your commit to raise pledge dollars are the first two steps towards ending breast cancer forever. Fund raise online by clicking on the “register now” link to register, and then to email your friends and family your fund raising link today!
You can get started by…
- Asking for pledges early.
- Set a goal and tell people what it is.
- Research your company’s matching gift program – double your money.

Online Donations
Online donations are an easy way to solicit donations from friends and family. Fund raising pages are very versatile - you can customize the look of the page, email potential donors directly from the site and track donations made in your name. All donations made through your web page are tracked so you get "credit" for those donations for fund raising prizes! It's a lot of fun! Plus, if you are a team member, all your donations count toward the team total and appear on the team site as well.
Mail-In Pledge Donations
It is the responsibility of the fund raising participant to collect pledge donations and turn them in at one time. Donors mailing checks separately will not be counted toward the Pledge for Prizes program for that participant, even if the participant's name is included with the donation, unless they have the check form attached. The check form can be found here. If donors would like to make an independent donation and have a receipt, the best option is for them to donate online under the participant's personal fund raising page.
Checks should be written out to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and mailed with the pledge form to:
PO Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265
If you prefer to use our pledge form, please click here. Note that if you decide to use the pledge form to mail in checks, you do not need to also use the check form.
Tax Deduction Information
Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible. Starting in tax year 2007, the IRS will require proof of donations, regardless of the amount. All online donations will automatically receive receipts, so we highly recommend that you use this avenue for fund raising. Individual pledges/donations of over $250, submitted by mail or in person, will be given a receipt. For pledges/donations under $250, a canceled check serves as a receipt. Please do not accept cash pledges if the donor wants to deduct the donation.
